Procedures for Reporting Emergencies
Whenever any Student suddenly has an emergency in the Hostels/College premises, the following are standardized procedures or steps to follow:
- Call for help immediately:
- Dial the Medical Centre emergency line: 09066378479.
- While rushing the patient to the Medical Centre, inform the Student Affairs Office through the Students’ Union Welfare Director (or any other Students’ Union official in their absence).
- Bring the patient to the Medical Centre:
- The student must be taken directly to the Medical Centre for prompt medical evaluation, care, and management.
- Limit the number of escorts:
- Only those directly involved in transporting the patient, plus one person with knowledge of the patient’s medical condition, should accompany the patient.
- Carry the patient’s medical card:
- Ensure the patient’s Medical Centre card (or at least the card number) is brought along. Roommates or eyewitnesses should take responsibility for this.
- Security support:
- Enter through the main gate and request security personnel to accompany you to the Medical Centre.
- Female students at night:
- Female students must come in pairs when reporting emergencies at night.
- Follow medical instructions:
- Always comply with the instructions given by Medical Centre staff, as they are trained to assist and provide the best care.
Important Notes:
- Students who fall ill within the College premises must first report to the College Medical Centre. Do not seek treatment at external facilities without first presenting at the Centre and obtaining permission or a referral.
- Verbal or physical assault on Medical Centre staff will not be tolerated. Such behavior may lead to withdrawal of services. Always cooperate with health personnel.
