Dr. AyoJesutomi O. Abiodun-Solanke
Dr. AyoJesutomi O. Abiodun-Solanke holds a Ph.D. in Fish Postharvest Technology from the University of Ibadan and serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Technology at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology (FCFMT), Lagos. As an AWARD Fellow named among BellaNaija’s Top 100 Career Women in Nigeria (2022), she brings extensive teaching and research expertise to equipping future leaders with practical skills and global exposure. Her research interests focus on fish postharvest technology, food safety, sustainable fisheries, nutrition-sensitive food systems, climate-smart processing, and the circular bioeconomy. She maintains active memberships in professional bodies, including FISON, IIFET, IFT, IAFP, SETAC, and OWSD.
Dr. Abiodun-Solanke has successfully secured and managed several competitive international research grants from organisations including the International Foundation for Science (IFS), Carleton University (Canada), UNDP, the United States Embassy, Mundus Maris, the Global Food Research Program Innovation Fund (University of North Carolina), and the European Union-funded STREAMING Project, where her Knowledge Transfer proposal was selected for funding following international peer review. She serves as Coordinator of Mundus Maris – Science and Arts for Sustainability at FCFMT and has held leadership positions in the Nigerian Women in Agricultural Research for Development (NiWARD) and the African Continental Association for Food Protection (ACAFP).
