The Marine Engineering Department of the College was established about 25 years ago to train intending sea-going marine engineers that will mount various vessels from fishing trawlers to cargo vessels and Tankers etc. The department syllabus offers a robust content in both theory and practical as required by the statutory regulatory agencies; the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and NIMASA. Its programme runs for two years (24 months) classroom and laboratory practicals, plus a compulsory eighteen months sea time (cadetship) after graduation.
