Dr. Charity Oche

Dr. Charity Oche is a veterinarian, public health researcher, and Lecturer at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology (FCFMT), Lagos, whose work focuses on the intersection of animal health, human health, and community wellbeing through the One Health approach.

She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Fisheries, and a Ph.D. in Public Health (Health Promotion). Her doctoral research focused on antibiotic stewardship among primary caregivers in underserved communities in Lagos. She is also a member and volunteer of the Nigerian Red Cross Society and has participated in faith-based community leadership, outreach, and youth mentorship programmes.

Her research interests include One Health, antimicrobial resistance, antibiotic stewardship, public health education, community health, animal health, fisheries, and sustainable livelihoods. She is a member of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) and the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON).

Dr. Oche is passionate about translating research into practical interventions that protect families, strengthen community health systems, promote responsible antibiotic use, and advance sustainable, community-rooted solutions across human and animal health sectors.
