Olalekan Rukayat Damilola

Olalekan Rukayat Damilola obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, graduating with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in 2013. She subsequently enrolled in a Master of Science (M.Sc.) programme in Animal Production in 2014, further strengthening her academic background in animal science and agricultural research.

She is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Technology at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Nigeria, with three years teaching experience where she is actively involved in teaching, research, and the training of future fisheries professionals.

Rukayat is presently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the Department of Fisheries, Lagos State University (LASU). Her area of specialization is Aquaculture, with a particular research interest in fish reproductive physiology. Her current doctoral research focuses on the assessment of active principles and the impacts of selected indigenous plants on the reproductive performance of Clarias gariepinus, with emphasis on growth, gonad development, and fecundity.

She is a member of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) and is committed to advancing sustainable aquaculture through innovative research, teaching, and professional service.
